The application

C & C Industrial and a pancake bakery were faced with the major challenge of achieving maximum conveying capacity in a very confined space.
On the production line, plastic modular belts convey pancakes reliably through various process stages. Operating in a tight space, the conveyor requires compact curve layouts and precise product transfers.

Exceptionally critical aspects were:

  • The confined space within the conveyor,
  • Tight curve radii,
  • Small transfer sections between the components,
  • The hygienic requirements in food production,
  • Ensuring energy efficiency 24/7

  • The solution needed to deliver stable belt tracking, product-friendly conveying and easy cleaning all at once.

Series 9 with variable collapse factor of 1.3.

Variable collapse factor

Siegling Prolink series 9.1 was particularly impressive for its variable collapse factor of 1.3. This enabled a compact and efficient conveyor design, despite space constraints.

With an open area of up to 57%, the belt also enhanced airflow within the conveyor and minimized products sticking to it during operation. The robust design, featuring stainless steel hinge pins and outstanding lateral stiffness, ensured consistent and smooth belt tracking during non-stop operation.

Clip-free splicing is another benefit. It improves uptime, makes cleaning easier and ensures hygienic production conditions in food processing.

Prolink Series 14

The series 14 modular belt is custom-designed for smooth tracking over fixed returns with a diameter of just 19 mm (0.75 in). Very small transfer sections and controlled product transition on the conveyor were the result. Particularly with delicate baked products like pancakes, this solution makes processes more reliable and cuts product loss.

The result

In conjunction with One Motion drive technology, the whole conveyor was exceptionally energy efficient and its power consumption just 8 amps.

Result
The solution excelled in day-to-day operation due to:

  • The compact machinery design despite tight space constraints,
  • Reliable conveying of products,
  • Smooth and stable belt tracking,
  • Very small transfer sections,
  • Hygienic operation,
  • Low energy consumption,
  • Consistent processes during non-stop operation

  • The combination of Siegling Prolink series 9 and series 14 established itself as a powerful solution for compact food applications with stringent demands regarding efficiency, hygiene and reliable processes.

Prolink Spiral Belts
