INVESTING IN A CLEANER FUTURE
In 2024, we took a major step toward achieving our long-term sustainability goals by installing photovoltaic systems at two of our key sites: Garbsen (Germany) and Wallbach (Switzerland). With a total of 723 highly efficient solar modules and a project investment of approximately €380,000, these installations represent a significant milestone in our journey toward energy independence and climate responsibility.

“Our new photovoltaic system in Garbsen allows us to cover between 15% and 20% of our annual electricity consumption with solar power,” explains Uwe Fahrenholz, Head of Global Fabrication.
“Because the system faces east and west, it generates electricity throughout the day — up to 800 kWh on sunny days — which we use directly in our production and offices.”

“Installing solar panels underlines our ambition to operate sustainably,” adds Marc Watzal, Operations and Technical Manager.
“They help reduce our electricity costs while enhancing our image as a future-oriented and environmentally responsible company.” Why it matters:
By switching to solar energy, we’re reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, cutting resource consumption, and making real progress toward climate protection. This initiative is just one part of a broader plan: improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, and aiming for 100% sustainable energy in the future.

“We aim to stabilize the way we manage our energy, make our energy consumption transparent in order to sustainably reduce our energy consumption.”
