In over 40 years as a family-run business, Stein Automation GmbH has been focusing on assembly transfer systems. The systems stand apart because they are modular, compact and absolutely reliable. Stein supplies then to a wide range of industries worldwide. Our sales agency Nottebohm has been looking after the company since 1970. The business partners enjoy an excellent relationship with one another.

Application

Stein had been using our TT 5/1 HC black belts in its drag-band conveyor systems for decades. In addition to the belts’ tensile strength and suitability for small roll diameters, they excel in terms of their low and consistent friction coefficient on the top face. The belts had to cope with relatively heavy loads and, in conjunction with anodized workpiece carriers, were also subjected to extreme wear and tear.

Nevertheless, they still impressed Stein when compared with other types made by competitors. Their enquiry regarding a more modern belt primarily came about because they wanted to shorten previous fabrication times, which involved time-consuming roughening and bonding of the belts.

Our belting solution

We then presented the new TT 15E-14 HC FBRC black, which has been in use ever since. A key characteristic of the product is the simple and above all fast fabrication process, which allowed us to respond exactly to the customer’s demands. Furthermore, a stronger tension member allows transmission of higher forces. Special very tough fabric is also used that doesn’t tend to fray and is an ideal friction partner with a low friction coefficient vis à vis anodized workpiece carriers. Therefore, the new belt is exceptionally good for sustained accumulation conveying or moving the workpiece carriers on the belt.
