The customer

The customer is listed on the stock exchange and a manufacturer of intralogistics solutions and systems in the warehousing logistics and warehousing automation segment. It’s the market leader in this area with over 35 sites, more than 1,700 machines and over 3,000 employees.
Its product range comprises warehousing systems and technology, shuttle systems, order-picking systems (automatic, semi-automatic and manual systems for order picking), conveying technology such as live-roller conveyors (container conveying technology, sorter systems) and warehouse management systems.

Application

A high level of flexibility with a modular and space-saving machine design, conveyors of up to 40 m in length and loads of up to 35 kg/m require small drum diameters with large center distances at the same time. These requirements of the manufacturer’s live-roller conveyors call for a special machine design and therefore present huge challenges to the belts used.

To solve the problem, we developed a product range especially for live-roller drives necessitated by the small drum diameters, the large center distances and the increasing demand for heavier loads. The Siegling Extremultus live-roller power transmission belts are energy-saving and long-lasting drive components that ensure top speeds and reliable distribution processes.

They stand apart for their superior abrasion resistance and low creep, therefore guaranteeing excellent performance in this highly demanding application.

Result

Two Siegling live-roller power transmission belts have been used as original equipment components in the above-mentioned live-roller conveyors for years:

• GG 20E-20 green
• UU 30E-20 FSTR/FSTR green

Since 2009 alone, over 520 km of these two belts have been supplied to the OEM. This equates roughly to the distance from Berlin to Warsaw.
