HM Heizkörper

Dingelstädt, Germany

The customer

HM Heizkörper in Dingelstädt (Germany) is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of radiators and sells more than half a million of them per year.

HM Heizkörper

Application

A shrink tunnel, which originally came with a metal chain that was prone to causing malfunctions, is used to package radiators carefully (see picture on the right side). Temperatures in the tunnel get up to 160°C.

Our belting solution

Due to the semi-circular shape of the RAT pattern, the film only has minimal contact to the belt and heat can reach the film with virtually no hindrance and therefore cause it to shrink.
Custom-made (split) stainless steel sprockets were used to allow adjustment of the sprockets to the existing round shaft and to create the prescribed A dimension (distance from the middle of the drive shaft to the top edge of the wear strip). These steel sprockets provide extra protection from the impact of the temperature.

The image shows the entry into the shrink tunnel.

Result

The Prolink belt has been in operation for a year now: the surface still looks clean. HM Heizkörper packages its products cleanly and flawlessly thanks to Prolink S8-25 RAT PA-HT BK.

In the picture one can see the emergence of the radiator from the shrink tunnel.
