Healthcare Flooring

Flooring for Healthcare Facilities

With millions of square meters of our floor coverings installed in healthcare, Forbo is at the forefront when it comes to understanding the needs and concerns of the healthcare marketplace.

Haga Juliana Hospital Den haag

Expertise in Healthcare

Every Solution. One Supplier.

In healthcare environments, it is important that a floor can withstand the impact of the day to day traffic of heavy equipment, hospital beds and foot traffic.

Whether you need an adhesive free resilient for a quick refurbishment of a ward, carpet tiles for an office space or specialist ESD flooring for an operating theatre, Forbo have products suitable for almost every environment within the healthcare sector.

Expertise in healthcare flooring

Did you know? Independent testing by the University of Glasgow has proven that Marmoleum has a unique suitability for a diverse range of environments where hygiene and control of bacteria such as MRSA or E. coli is an everyday concern.

Spaces in Healthcare

  • Entrance

    Entrances & Receptions

    First impression of a building

A clean healthcare facility starts with an effective Entrance Flooring System

Entrance Flooring Systems from Forbo reduce the risk of slips and trips, as well as reducing maintenance time and saving money.
Round the clock staff shifts and the constant flow of visitors mean entrance areas in a healthcare environment can take quite a pounding, and wet and dirty soiling can be trailed into the reception area and beyond. Not only can this damage interior floor coverings, it also creates unnecessary health and safety hazards.
Our fully integrated collection of Entrance Flooring Systems provide an outstanding first line of defence against soil and moisture entering a building to keep cleaning and maintenance costs down while reducing the risk of slips and trips

    Specialist areas

    A demanding area

    Specialist flooring for sensitive areas

In sensitive hospital areas such as operating theatres, intensive care units and imaging diagnostic facilities, flooring presents its own unique challenges. Not only must it comply with stringent hygiene regulations to help prevent hospital acquired infections, it must also demonstrate that it meets any necessary safety requirements. And most importantly, it must prevent any electrostatic discharges as these can cause malfunctions, or even failures, in highly sensitive medical equipment and devices.

EFS - keeping the world outside, outside

From old carpet fluff to abandoned fishing nets, many of our Coral collections are made from ECONYL® – a high quality yarn made from 100% regenerated polyamide.

The primary backing of Coral Welcome is made from recycled plastic PET bottles.

We make Coral in a factory that runs entirely on green electricity and sends virtually zero waste to landfill and 100% of our aluminium, steel and rubber waste from our Nuway production is recycled.

And for those customers wanting a ‘natural’ entrance system, we offer Nuway Tuftiguard with Bamboo scraper bars. Bamboo is a sustainable species of grass and one of the fastest growing plants on earth.

Tessera - industry leading recycled content

All of our UK-produced tufted carpet tiles have at least 57% recycled content (by weight), with some containing an impressive 76%.

We’re also reducing the amount of virgin materials we use. For example, instead of throwing away yarn ends, we rewind them and tuft them into our Tessera range. We even have several ranges made with up to 100% ECONYL® regenerated yarn.
