Townhill Bowling Club

Townhill Bowling Club recently saw its clubhouse undergo refurbishments, with the installation of Forbo flooring helping to give a new lease of life to the space. This included 52m2 of surplus Tessera Cloudscape carpet tiles, kindly donated from a recent research and development production trial.

Located in Fife, Scotland, Townhill Bowling clubhouse is the village’s main social hub, playing host to not only a lawn bowls association but local groups, like Andy’s Man Club and Mother and Toddlers.

Within the lounge area of the clubhouse, the previous black carpet had deteriorated over time, presenting a potential trip hazard, as well as looking worn and tired. As a result, the club reached out to Forbo Flooring Systems, who donated 52m2 of its Tessera Cloudscape carpet tiles in the Nimbus colourway.

This flooring was left over from a previous research and development production trial at Forbo’s Bamber Bridge site, meaning it couldn’t then be put to general sale. Instead of disposing of perfectly usable flooring, it was decided that the carpet tiles could be better used to serve a new purpose, saving it from landfill.

Townhill Bowling Club President, Frank Wilding, said: “We’re delighted to have received this generous donation from Forbo. The clubhouse forms a very central part of our local community and as such we wanted to give it the best look possible for those using it. Now refurbished with the new carpet tiles, the lounge looks like new and can continue to serve those in the area.”
