FAQ - Usage and maintenance

Our highly durable and fit-for-purpose solutions make our flooring long-lasting and easy to maintain. On this FAQ page, you will find information about the sustainable usage and maintenance of our flooring solutions. If you don't find what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for further assistance.

How do your products perform post-installation under challenging conditions? Will they last for more than 10 years?

This, of course, depends on the material and the usage (footfall) of the product. We have highly engineered coating systems to decrease the need for cleaning and maintenance and make the floor more durable. Our advisors will always suggest the right product in the right place. This does mean that on average, our floor coverings will last well over 10 years, even 20 or 30 years when you consider a linoleum or vinyl floor.

For an entrance mat, it is wise to replace them every 5, 7 to 10 years, based on the use, the climate, and the amount of abuse (footfall). This replacement is well worth its money as a good entrance floor keeps the rest of the building and the floor covering clean and protects it from wear.

Do you offer low-VOC adhesives for installation?

Yes, we do. Eurocol is part of the Forbo Flooring Systems division and offers all kinds of flooring solutions when it comes to installing the floor, from fast installations to green installations. Eurocol's flooring adhesives are now all water-based and low-emitting, with some being extremely low-emitting.

How do you guarantee that the floorings you offer are safe to use?

Forbo Flooring is one of the few companies to provide information on the health impact of every one of our products. You can find detailed information on the EPD product datasheet that comes with each floor. You can find more about EPD's here

Whichever product you pick, all Forbo floors are free from toxins and phthalates. This is part of our commitment to ensuring that people can safely use our floors for years to come.
