Following detailed surveys of the existing patterns and selection of materials, including sample matching of the cream, white and blue colors of the original flooring, Forbo Marmoleum was specified and successfully used in the project.
The large main flooring tiles were factory cut prior to delivery. The replacement border comprised the same Forbo material with the intricate pattern replicated in color and design by cutting with an aquajet, also in factory conditions.
The Protection of the overall character of the Library was successfully achieved by the use of Forbo Marmoleum flooring, while at the same time providing a modern, controlled, thermally efficient heating system.
