The day care centre "Am Seidlkreuz" in Eichstätt is a lively and loving place for early childhood education and care. With its idyllic location, it offers the children a stimulating environment to develop their curiosity and discover the world of learning anew. The kindergarten places great emphasis on holistic development: playful learning, creative activities and social interaction are the focus. Motor, cognitive and social skills are promoted through a variety of pedagogical approaches. In addition to the educational activities, much emphasis is placed on experiencing nature. The adjacent garden offers the children the opportunity to play outside and explore the environment.
The new building opened its doors in 2022: On around 1100 square metres, the new kindergarten offers space for three groups of 25 children each and a crèche for 13 children. The premises are bright, inviting and age-appropriate to meet the needs of the children. The architectural workshop Breitenhuber+Hausmann decided to use Marmoleum Cocoa as the floor covering. Linoleum is a popular flooring option for kindergartens due to various added values: it is sustainable and environmentally friendly and therefore contributes to creating a healthy and eco-friendly environment for children. It is also extremely durable, which is especially important in a kindergarten where the floor is heavily used and many activities take place. The wide range of colours allows for a variety of design options, which are used especially in daycare centres to promote creative development.
With the kindergarten at Seidlkreuz, a safe, healthy and child-friendly place has been created where children are not only cared for but also holistically supported. Here they receive the foundation for a positive attitude towards learning, nature and community - a valuable basis for their future development.
