Corporate social responsibility is at the heart of our business. Our SA8000 accreditation refers to the human component throughout the entire supply chain, and CSR is included in various sections of our annual sustainability report.
What are Forbo Flooring's CO2 emissions goals?
Forbo Flooring Systems aims to reduce CO2 emissions (manufacturing and product) to zero by 2050. In order to get there, our Sustainability 2025 initiative seeks a CO2 reduction on all production-related on-site CO2 emissions by 2025. We do calculate all our activities, such as electrification, efficiency investments, LCA improvements, etc., back to the amounts of CO2 that are lowered. We achieved a 70% decrease in CO2 emissions between 2004-2021.
Do you and your products agree with the EU taxonomy and the four main conditions a business must meet to be considered environmentally sustainable?
The EU taxonomy is a dictionary-style tool for those activities and business practises that the EU considers sustainable in order to meet its targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and reaching zero emissions by 2050. We have not developed our sustainability strategy against these goals precisely, but when looking at our strategy and the sustainability 2025 program, you will find all of the components that are stipulated in the EU taxonomy.
