Lene Van Look: "When renovating our studio, we wanted to work with natural products. We also insulated our walls with hemp blocks, so this was also an important requirement for us. For our floor, we were inspired by the work of Gio Ponti, however, he realises his floor patterns with natural stone. Of course, recreating this would become very expensive and it would give us a thicker floor structure, which would mean less insulation.
We then looked for:
- A natural product
- A more budget-friendly option than natural stone
- An option that would reduce our floor thickness
Forbo's Marmoleum met all these requirements. We then designed our own laying pattern with a shade of 4 colours and a skirting-less finish."
