Colorex SD

Colorex SD is a static dissipative homogeneous floor covering in tile format with permanent ESD properties. Because of the dense network of dissipative veins, static charges flow easily through the floor to earth. Colorex SD tiles can withstand the most demanding conditions and offer a perfect solution for highly sensitive areas such as cleanrooms, and for demanding production sites in the electronics, life sciences and manufacturing industry.

    Colorex SD

    Colorex SD is a static dissipative homogeneous floor covering in tile format. The technology ensures permanent ESD properties throughout the life of the product, regardless the humidity level of the area. Because of the dense of network of conductive veins, static charges flow easily through the floor to earth.

    Colorex Signal

    Colorex Signal are permanent static dissipative tiles which can be used as an additional, permanent safety measure to indicate emergency exits or to mark escape routes or other spaces. Yellow, green and red are internationally used colours to warn for danger or draw attention.

Colorex SD enables safe electrostatic discharge through the whole thickness of the tile via the black conductive veins.

Colorex glued construction

The Colorex collection can be used in many different application areas, because of the different systems and the different levels of conductivity that are offered.

One of the options is to glue Colorex during the installation:
1. directly adhering it to a subfloor
2. bonding it to a raised access floor panel.

When conductive or dissipative properties are required, the connection between the tiles is assured by the conductive adhesive between the tiles and by the copper strip to the earthing point. If Colorex is installed using this process, the static charges are drained to earth via the earthing point.

The Colorex system that can be glued is available in 2 different tile products with ESD properties:
Colorex SD - static dissipative tiles of 61,5 x 61,5 cm
Colorex EC - electrostatic conductive tiles of 61,5 x 61,5 cm

Colorex tiles offer you high mechanical and wear resistance with no need for coatings or surface treatments. The tiles can be 100% repaired and restored, for example:
- Burns can be fully removed
- Damage can be seamless repaired
- Suborns stains like iodine can be fully removed
- Heavy soiling can by fully cleaned

About LRV
In architecture, Light Reflectance Value (LRV) is a measure of the percentage of visible and usable light that is reflected from a surface when illuminated by a light source. The LRV can be linked to a number of decisions on which a colour can be chosen. The approximate LRV of a colour indicates the amount of visible light that a colour will reflect. Black has a light reflectance value of 0% and absorbs all light. White has a light reflectance value of 100% and keeps a building light and cool. It also links to the use of electricity where lighter colours need less lighting, which is a direct saving for the environment. All Forbo products carry a light reflection value, which can be found in the text next to the enlargement of the tabletop.

About NCS
NCS colour coding describes the colour of any material. With numeric colour codes, so called NCS Notations, such as NCS S 1080-Y70R, any colour can be described precisely. NCS has defined 1950 standardised colours at every 10th step of the colour space to represent the entire colour space. Each notation's colour sample is visually identical to any other colour sample of the same notation, whether it is a standardised colour or a colour in between the 1950 standard colours. This way you can find matching flooring colours with other coloured items in a room.

The 'Natural Colour System' NCS has been developped in order to indentify the colour value, its intensity and hue for a product. By using the NCS maesurement system, colours and colour groups can be identified and matched regardless of the material that has been used. In this way colour coordinates for different aspects of the interior of a building can be determined. All Forbo Flooring products carry an NCS code, which can be found next to the enlargement of the tabletop and in our downloadcenter.
