Where we live and work has a significant impact on our health and happiness. All the more important that we ensure that these spaces are comfortable to be in and contribute to a good health. But how can you actually make an indoor space “better”?
In our newest webinar ‘Designing a better indoor environment’, Michal Marszalek (associate at IWBI) and Ben Channon (architect, author, TEDx speaker and director at Ekkist) discuss the WELL Building Standard and share their refreshing view on the impact of indoor environments on our health and well-being.

Michal serves as an Associate on the Commercial team at the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). He is based in Poland and supports teams on coaching, market development and technical resources in the EMEA region.
Prior to joining IWBI, Michal coordinated and supported both WELL and LEED certification of commercial buildings in Central and Eastern Europe (over 50 certified projects with a total area of approx. 7,500,000 sq. ft), participated as an expert in industry events and led inspiring activities in the field of sustainable development. He was honored with the IWBI Leadership Recognition Awards in 2018 and 2019.
In addition to his environmental background, he also completed post-graduate studies from Property Management and Health and Safety Management.

Ben Channon is an architect, author, TEDx speaker and mental wellbeing advocate. He is a Director at wellbeing design consultancy Ekkist, where he helps clients and design teams to create healthier places, and researches how buildings and urban design can impact how we feel.
Ben’s first book ‘Happy by Design’ explored the relationship between buildings and happiness – a subject on which he now speaks to businesses and universities around the world.
Ben then went on to qualify as WELL Accredited Professional, broadening his knowledge to encompass design for physical wellbeing. In January 2020 he was invited to join the WELL Mind Advisory panel, using his expertise to raise the bar for healthy buildings worldwide.
