The Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick is one of the biggest campus libraries in Ireland and one of the most digitally advanced in the world. The 30 million project includes a 7,600sqm extension and new facilities that offer students advanced computing, collaboration and communication spaces. Creating an area where speech can be heard clearly in busy areas and protecting other neighbouring quiet spaces from intrusive noise was bound to be a challenge.
Forbo was the answer, combining style with practical solutions using its Tessera and Allura Flex carpet tile ranges, renowned for their aesthetic styling and outstanding performance in the most demanding heavy traffic environments. For areas requiring outstanding slip resistant properties Forbo Surestep Safety Vinyl was chosen. Marmoleum Real was selected for its individual colour tones that combine to create beautifully graded colours along with its sound reduction qualities.
