THE LINO IN THE HOUSE

Linoleum, often confused with project vinyl because of the name "lino", is indeed a floor covering in its own right and very different from project vinyl floor coverings. Although there are differences that are important to take into account, these two floor coverings can quite well be laid in the housing sector, both in the private areas and in the common areas.

Lino, an authentic and trendy product

From a design and aesthetic point of view, linoleum has nothing to envy to other floor coverings. Indeed, although linoleum floors have existed for decades, manufacturing techniques have progressed in such a way that it is now possible to offer ever more innovative designs. In addition to the traditional marbled effects (Marmoleum marbled), there are plain, speckled, slate effects, or even concrete-inspired effects (Marmoleum solid). Current techniques also allow the creation of lined effects, with wood inspirations reminiscent of the parquet trend. (Marmoleum striato).
This variety of design makes it possible to meet all desires, from the most authentic residences to the most modern apartments, all in a natural way!

Bring nature into the entrance.

It is undeniable that one of the major advantages of linoleum is its appearance and its natural origin. Indeed, the 97% composition based on raw materials of natural origin of linoleum allows it to meet all the requirements in terms of durable buildings or HQE buildings in the housing sectors.

In addition, Forbo Flooring's Marmoleum ranges have Technical Advice making them suitable for use in UPEC premises at most classified up to U4 P3 E1/2 C2. Thus, our natural floor coverings can meet all needs within the home, from private areas (bedrooms, living rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, etc.) to common areas (entrance halls, corridors, etc.).

More particularly suitable for private areas of the home, Forbo Flooring offers a 2 mm Marmoleum range with a Technical Opinion justifying suitability for use in UPEC premises at most classified U2s P2 E1 C2. Marmoleum can thus dress all the rooms of a fireplace... or almost. Unlike project vinyl, the nature of linoleum (composed of wood flour, cork flour, chalk, linseed oil, etc.) makes this floor covering sensitive to standing water. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of linoleum in wet rooms, including bathrooms and kitchens.

Ease of installation, acoustic comfort, the lino responds present

The housing sector, like any market segment, meets its own requirements: ease of installation, quick and effective intervention in a busy environment, acoustic comfort preserving the neighbourhood, etc.

In terms of laying, the diversity of linoleum floors, and in particular its formats, responds to this problem. Although traditionally offered in strips, Forbo Flooring linoleum floors also exist in planks and tiles (Marmoleum modal).

Linoleum floors also make it possible to respond to the problems of acoustic insulation that are common, especially in condominiums, thanks to the Marmoleum decibel range. Just as wide in colourway and design as standard Marmoleum ranges, Marmoleum decibel offers 19dB acoustic efficiency for optimal comfort.
