The new Center for Family Services in Seinajoki is included in a larger city block that contains, in addition to health services, also commercial spaces, housing, a multi-storey car park and a train station. The interior spaces form a seamless continuation of the public outdoor space of the square. The light colour of the
concrete, mosaic floor tiles at street-level featuring the commercial spaces connects with the light shade of the natural stone on the public square. On the upper floors, which are dedicated to family services, the same light tone continues in the flooring and surface materials. In contrast, stronger tones have been used to highlight the shoe-free areas of the Center for Family Services.
