Allura Decibel b+
LUXURY VINYL TILES AND PLANKS
The balanced offer of the Allura Decibel collection combines beautiful floor design and very good acoustic noise reduction (19 dB) with excellent product properties. This makes the luxury vinyl tiles highly suitable for use in any demanding application where acoustic properties are as important as product performance.
Allura Decibel is designed for a circular future: it can be installed with a tackifier for easier reuse or recycling, is produced using recycled content and 100% renewable electricity and meets the highest standards for low VOC emissions.
Does Allura Decibel meet your project requirements, but are you looking for an even more sustainable flooring solution?
Our on-demand Allura Decibel b+ option offers the same high quality and performance as a standard Allura Decibel floor, but also has significantly enhanced sustainability characteristics.
The innovative composition of Allura Decibel b+ combines recycled content, bio-based PVC and abundant mineral resources, resulting in more than 80% sustainable materials.
Allura Decibel b+ contains 31% recycled content, sourced from post-production and installation waste, complemented by a recycled plasticizer made from materials such as PET bottles. The floor also contains bio-based PVC instead of traditional fossil-based PVC, lowering its environmental footprint even further.
The bio-based PVC is produced using a 100% renewable carbon feedstock (biomass) for the ethylene component, while the remaining PVC is derived from abundant mineral resources.
For both the recycled plasticizer and the bio-based PVC, a mass balance approach is used. In our mass-balance manufacturing process, traditional PVC and bio-based PVC enter the same production stream. By purchasing the b+ version, you increase the share of bio-based content allocated to Allura Decibel floors.
The more Allura Decibel b+ floors our customers choose, the more recycled and bio-based natural raw materials we can add to the production process, leading to a continuous reduction of fossil resources throughout our supply chain.
By choosing Allura Decibel b+, you help lower CO₂ emissions, encourage responsible resource use and contribute to healthier, more future proof buildings. Together, we can move towards a more circular flooring industry!
Being transparent is one of the key elements of our sustainability strategy and therefore we would like to have evidence that our flooring is truly sustainable, both for the planet as well as for our health.
The Environmental Transparency passport is a tool to get a quick overview of all relevant environmental & health related product information, covering data across the entire value chain.
Forbo uses Life Cycle Assessments to identify and continuously improve the environmental performance of our floors. Our independently verified Environmental Product Declarations provide a framework for measuring a building’s environmental footprint and give you the information you need to make a sustainable decision.
Allura Decibel b+: flooring that looks modern, performs reliably and helps reduce your project's environmental footprint — without compromising on design or durability.
Introducing an option that uses bio-based PVC and a recycled plasticizer in our acoustic vinyl portfolio is a natural extension of our ambition. Circularity lies at the core of our sustainability strategy and our efforts focus on reducing our carbon footprint, increasing the use of recycled and renewable materials and embedding sustainability throughout our entire value chain.
We will continue to work on reducing the environmental impact of our products. Besides Allura Decibel b+ and our climate positive Marmoleum floors, we also offer Tessera Evolve+ carpet tiles and Sphera Elite b+ homogeneous vinyl floors with excellent sustainability criteria.
