Completing your ESD system

ESD-rated flooring alone doesn't make a compliant system. Conductivity has to be maintained from the floor surface all the way to earth, which means the adhesive and earthing components matter just as much as the flooring itself.

A compliant ESD system typically includes:

• Conductive flooring adhesive – used to bond the floor covering to the subfloor, maintaining conductivity through the entire installation.


• Copper earthing strip – installed beneath the floor and connected to the building’s earth point. This ensures that static charges collected on the floor surface are safely transferred to ground. The copper earthing strip must be connected by a licensed electrician.
