Soongmi Elementary School practices the "Mom's Hug" concept, which aims to reproduce a warm, protective, nurturing atmosphere. It constantly encourages children to ask questions, in a space that promotes curiosity and helps the youngsters to develop emotional bonds. The children can learn by experiencing various scaled-down areas such as a piazza, an atelier, a kitchen, a courtyard or a classroom.
Marmoleum flooring combined with a radiant heating system creates a home-like environment where the children can sit or lie down, while resting, playing or learning. The colours are carefully selected for the different age groups.
