Opened in 2021, JO&JOE Paris Nation embodies a new generation of hospitality a hybrid and inventive living space designed as an open house where passing travelers and local residents come together.
To enhance its common areas, the firm D+B Interior Design chose Flotex by Sottsass flooring in the “Bacteria” pattern. This design, featuring organic and irregular shapes, plays with scale and perspective. Up close, it resembles a swarm of colorful confetti; from a distance, a constellation of stars. Its bold graphics and contrasting colors perfectly complemented the hotel’s creative identity, where murals by street artists adorn every space.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Flotex provided the durability and ease of maintenance essential for high-traffic hallways, while offering the comfort of a textile floor. The project was honored with the 2021 Paris Shop&Design Award in the Hotels, Cafés, and Restaurants category.
