A unique natural paradise in the middle of the landscape protection area of the Isarauen in Munich: Hellabrunn Zoo. Hellabrunn Zoo has been dedicated to the fascinating world of nature for over 100 years. Its enthusiasm is reflected in the zoo's state-of the-art zoological facilities. Following a general expansion plan in 1972, the zoo was repeatedly redesigned and renewed. The aim was to gradually develop a more naturalistic encounter with the animals. Last year's renovation of the Orangutan visitor area was another step towards modernization, and it now invites visitors to a memorable encounter with the endangered ape species. The renovation
followed a sophisticated architectural concept which is modelled on the natural habitat of the exotic animals. It conjures up a bit of jungle flair in the visitor area.

For the new space experience, the architect in charge and deputy head of the technical department at Hellabrunn Zoo, Radim Rozehnal chose natural materials. His choice fell on Forbo Linoleum for a combined floor and wall design. The wide color palette with different structures offered the best conditions for the redesign of an atmospheric environment. Marmoleum paneling was laid in four natural shades. The different nuances arouse associations with the natural environment of the exotic monkey species and point to the close connection between nature and Marmoleum. Marmoleum consists of up to 98% natural raw materials; Of these, 73% are rapidly regrowing. The recycled content of CO2-neutral Forbo Linoleum is 43%.
In addition, extremely durable linoleum guarantees the requirements of the daily flow of visitors to withstand and not to lose the well-groomed appearance even after years of use. In total, about 700 square meters were installed in four different colors. The special feature is the clever use. The elastic material was not only laid on the floor, but also installed on the seating and on the walls. In this way, the various elements merge with each other and create a very special atmosphere in their nature, which is inspired by nature, which has a very atmospheric effect due to the deliberately chosen dim light.
