In 1924 the Maatschappij voor Bollencultuur (Society for bulbs culture) gave the architect j. Zietsma command to design a prestigious building. The property is designed in a variant of the well known Amsterdam School style, the (New) Hague School Popularly, the building was called the ' bulb ' (bulbs barn), therefore this name. The building is now a national monument and is used by various companies as office building.
