The origin of Marmoleum
Before linoleum became a colour story, it was simply this: linseed oil, wood flour, limestone, jute. Marmoleum Soul goes back to that - little to no pigment hiding what it's made of.
Crafted from natural ingredients, this floor creates a lasting bond with the earth while being climate positive cradle to gate. Its authentic composition celebrates materials that are openly expressed, shaped by nature and revealed through its visual texture, warmth and even a subtle scent. A living surface, it matures like wood, stone or leather, gaining richness over time*.
Each Marmoleum Soul colour is linked to a number, inspired by the symbolic meaning of numerology.
0003 sky - opening up spaces
A pale blue laid over the wood base, just enough to open a room up without losing its warmth. Light, not loud.
3 = creativity, growth, expansion
0006 bloom - kindness and connection
A soft blossom tone over the wood base. Warm rather than sweet, and still unmistakably linoleum.
6 = care, nurture, community
0001 origin
No pigment. No filter. Just the raw colour of wood flour, linseed oil, and limestone — the material as it actually is.
1 = the beginning.
0008 beach - in harmony
Origin's nearest relation — the same wood tone, quietly greyed down so it sits easily next to almost anything.
8 = duality, harmony, relationships
0004 ground - the foundation
More grey, more weight — built to sit alongside concrete without going cold. The wood still shows through underneath.
4 = structure, stability, grounding
* Marmoleum Soul is a natural flooring material containing minimal to no added pigments. As a result, variations in colour shade and structure between production batches may be more pronounced than in other Marmoleum products. In addition, exposure to light may cause colour changes over time, similar to those observed in natural materials such as wood.
