Acoustic linoleum

Thanks to a special insulating layer laminated to the linoleum sheet, Forbo’s acoustic linoleum achieves lower dB values, with impact sound reduction of up to 18 dB.

Available in two options:
Marmoleum Decibel - a polyolefin backing that achieves sound reductions of 18 dB.
Marmoleum Acoustic - a cork backing reaches up to 14dB sound impact reduction.

Marmoleum Acoustic

Marmoleum Acoustic has a total thickness of 4 mm and reduces impact sound by 14 dB. It is a twin layer linoleum built up from 2 mm of Marmoleum and 2 mm Corkment backing and is available in 6 colours.

Using Marmoleum Acoustic reduces installation costs as it can be installed in one go, avoiding the need to first lay Corkment and the Marmoleum.

Within our linoleum flooring range, Marmoleum Decibel provides the highest impact sound reduction of 18 dB.

This sustainable acoustic flooring consists of 2.5 mm Marmoleum laminated onto a 1 mm layer of polyolefin foam. Available in 27 colours selected from the Marmoleum Marbled and Solid collections.

The Marmoleum Decibel construction is also possible on request for other linoleum colours, subject to a minimum order quantity and lead time. Explore the complete overview here.

All our linoleum floor covering from the Marmoleum Marbled, Solid and Linear collections can be ordered in a 3.5 mm Marmoleum Decibel construction that offers 18 dB sound reduction, subject to a minimum order quantity and lead times.

Marmoleum Decibel consists of 2.5 mm Marmoleum laminated onto a 1 mm layer of polyolefin foam.

Corkment underlay

Corkment

A natural acoustic underlay used in combination with standard 2.5 mm Marmoleum sheet to achieve an impact sound reduction of 14 dB.

Installation: The Corkment should be installed with the jute side up – at right angles to the same direction as that of the Marmoleum sheet.
Wait 24 hours for the adhesive to set.

Then install the Marmoleum on top of the Corkment. Follow the standard installation procedures.
