Product Stewardship Policy
Forbo Flooring Systems Australia is committed to responsible product life cycle management and the core principles of product stewardship and manufacturer responsibility.
As a manufacturer and supplier of linoleum (Marmoleum) floor coverings and surface finishes (Bulletin Board & Furniture Linoleum) on a project by project basis will contractually take back all Forbo linoleum products for reprocessing into new product or recycled.
In addition, Forbo is also a member of the Vinyl Council of Australia and collaborate with all industry stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes across PVC product supply and end of life options in Australia.

Forbo Flooring Systems Australia have partnered with Grass Hopper Environmental to offer product stewardship and end of life options for our flooring products. Established in 1978 Grass Hopper Environmental provide professional, tailored responsive waste services and data reporting across building, demolition, industrial and commercial sectors.
By maintaining 100% environmental compliance, ethical recycling & waste management practices and a unique supply-chain partnership, Grass Hopper effectively facilitate the waste to resource process and increase the green credentials of businesses and construction projects across Sydney.
Waste free circular economy
Grasshopper Environmental is the first to market facilitator of waste to energy solutions for construction & demolition waste.
Waste to energy is an ideal solution for cardboard, paper, textiles, and waste timber that would traditionally end up in landfill. The ground-breaking solution of converting waste to energy (process engineered fuel - PEF) provides multiple benefits to the environment as it reduces greenhouse gas emissions, diverts waste away from landfill and forms part of a cleaner solution to fossil fuels.
Recognised by the Clean Energy Regulator and Emissions reduction fund. The processing plant is owned and run by some of Australia's largest recyclers and is located in Wetherill Park NSW, with more to come around Australia.

Forbo Flooring Australia will take back natural linoleum pre consumer off cuts and post consumer waste from building sites and through Grass Hopper Environmental recycle into processed engineered fuel (PEF), diverting waste and creating cleaner energy.
Starting as a CO₂ neutral (cradle to gate) product and then creating usable energy at the end of life is a unique achievement and this is just one option with Marmoleum flooring.
