Mölndal, Sahlgrenska and Östra Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden merged in 1997 as Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU) was founded. Since 1999 Sahlgrenska University Hospital is a part of Västra Götaland Region and is one of six teaching hospitals with medical education in Sweden.
