Peace, warmth and Marmoleum: the foundation of TintelTuin
At TintelTuin, everything revolves around growth and enjoyment, which is evident every day at the childcare locations in Amsterdam, Zaanstad and Waterland in the Netherlands. As one of the largest childcare organisations in the region, TintelTuin offers more than 95 locations where children aged 0 to 13 can develop in a safe, stimulating environment. The TintelTuin location in Assendelft perfectly reflects this vision, where the educational interior is fully tailored to each child's unique growth path.
Educational interior: the third teacher
Together with a team of interior design consultants and educational coaches, TintelTuin developed an innovative interior design concept, in which the space itself is the “third teacher”. The furniture is low and child-friendly, encouraging autonomy; children can play independently, learn and sit at the table with their carers. At every step, the importance of reducing stimuli is paramount: soothing colours and natural materials create a pleasant, uncluttered atmosphere in which children can develop safely.
Marmoleum flooring in calm, natural colours
All branches will have the same look and feel: soft tones, calm colours and playful accent materials. Extra attention is paid to the floor: the foundation of every space. TintelTuin has consciously chosen Marmoleum flooring from Forbo Flooring in the warm, natural colours of pannacotta, salted caramel and meringue. These colours blend seamlessly with the interior and offer the desired comfort to users, from young children to educational professionals.
Arjette Arkesteijn, interior design consultant and employee at TintelTuin for 20 years: “Our floors really form the basis of the groups. We now work with Marmoleum in soft shades, and you can see how much peace this gives the children. Here, children can discover things for themselves, play independently and sit together at the table with the staff. The space offers structure, but above all comfort for everyone.”
A project of inspiration
TintelTuin proves that educational design, sustainability and optimal ease of use go hand in hand. With the roll-out of the new interior concept, every branch has become a place where children and staff feel seen and heard, and where the floor literally contributes to a new generation of explorers.
The result? A warm, inviting location that reflects Tinteltuin's educational vision. And the reactions are positive: even colleagues want to use Marmoleum in their own homes. That says it all.
