Smart choices for a sustainable interior with local design
Netbeheer Nederland, the trade association for electricity and gas network operators, recently completed a thorough renovation of its office in the New Babylon building in The Hague. A place where collaboration, sustainability, and identity are central.
Parella Group was commissioned for the design, with interior architect Marieke Stigter as creative director. An important element in the renovated interior is the flooring. Parella deliberately chose for Marmoleum Concrete from Forbo Flooring: a natural and locally produced product that perfectly matches Netbeheer's sustainability ambitions. The subtle color shades and warm character of Marmoleum enhance the atmosphere in the different areas of the office.

The natural look and subtle color shades fit in nicely with the interior concept. What's more, it is a locally produced Dutch product, which makes the choice even more sustainable.”
The color choice has been carefully coordinated with the corporate identities of Netbeheer's members. This creates a visual connection between identity and space:
● Green, gray, and terra red** in the meeting areas;
● Dark blue, rust red, and pink in the meeting rooms;
● Yellow-green tones in the work areas.
This targeted application creates cohesion and a unique atmosphere in each space. Marmoleum forms the basis of the flooring concept. In some rooms, additional carpet has been used, matching the color scheme of the design. This creates a harmonious whole with a warm and inviting appearance.
The collaboration with Forbo is always a pleasant experience: “The sample service works quickly and efficiently: requesting samples online is very user-friendly,” says Marieke. Both Netbeheer and Parella Group are very satisfied with the end result. The floor contributes to the warm, colorful look of the interior. A place where people enjoy working together.
