Forbo has developed a special formula for Marmoleum
that meets specific requirements for electrical conductivity.
Marmoleum ohmex is, like all Marmoleum-products,
produced from renewable materials and therefore not
harming the environment.
The ingredients of Marmoleum are linseed oil, rosin,
natural pigments, limestone, jute and wood flour.
For the situations where you require an environmental friendly and dissipative floorcovering.
Friction and subsequent separation of two objects can generate tribo-electrification, the most known source of static electrical discharge, causing f.e.:
Electrical shocks when touching metal objects
Paper and foils sticking together
Crackle when taking off clothes made of synthetic materials
The discharge can cause damage to f.e. electrical equipment.
A floorcovering having a low electrical resistance can quickly dissipate electrical charges
Electrical resistance is expressed in Ohm (Ω)
Marmoleum ohmex is the dissipative linoleum floorcovering
The electrical resistance of a floor can not be to low. This could cause electrocution when there is contact with a mains voltage of 220-230 Volt
According the VDE0100/T160 a floorcovering has to have a miminal electrical resistance of: 5.104
This minimal electrical resistance of a floorcovering is called the safety resistance
