Marmoleum

Acoustic linoleum

Acoustic linoleum achieves lower dB values thanks to a special insulating layer that is laminated to the linoleum sheet. In this way impact sound reduction of up to 17dB can be achieved.

Acoustic linoleum is available in two options: Marmoleum Acoustic which features a cork backing reaching up to 14dB sound impact reduction, and Marmoleum Decibel with a polyolefine backing achieving sound reductions of up to 17dB.

Why Choose Acoustic Linoleum?

Why Choose Acoustic Linoleum?

From corridors and receptions to libraries and multi-level buildings, keeping noise levels to a minimum is an important part of the design of a space.

Our acoustic linoleum collections offer a variety of impact sound reduction solutions to suit your application.

Marmoleum Acoustic
Our Marmoleum Acoustic collection reduces impact sound by 14dB (ISO 717-2). A twinlayer linoleum built up from 2mm Marmoleum and a 2mm Corkment backing, using Marmoleum Acoustic reduces installation costs as it can be installed in one go, avoiding the need to first lay Corkment.

Marmoleum Decibel
Marmoleum Decibel is 3.5mm thick and provides the highest reduction of impact sound by 17dB; the acoustic performance is achieved by laminating 2.5mm Marmoleum onto a 1mm thick layer of polyolefin foam.

Corkment Underlay
Using a Corkment underlay can be used in combination with regular Marmoleum to achieve an impact sound reduction of at least 14dB (according ISO 717-2). First the Corkment should be installed – with the jute side up – at right angles to the direction of the Marmoleum sheet. Wait 24 hours for the adhesive to set, then install the Marmoleum on top of the Corkment following the standard installation procedures.
