    About Tessera Accord

    Naturally intersecting lines

The natural intersecting striated small scale all over design of the Tessera Accord carpet tile collection meets the need for flexible, practical and adaptable solutions for the design of workspaces. Accord joins Infused and Harmony as part of the Union collection. Each range in the Union collection shares linking yarn colours, tones and usable design styles to expand creative possibilities; forming balanced, calming and more productive workspace environments.

Tessera Accord is available in 50x50 cm tile format, with a broadloom style appearance being achieved through monolithic installation. Accord has a multi-pile height ‘design’ loop surface finish, giving the patterning interesting structure and a textured under foot feel.

The Accord collection offers 12 colourways. The 6 neutral colours form a warm palette, matching Infused and with linking elements to the Tessera Cloudscape, Inline and Layout collections. The 6 pastel shades give a sense of warmth and link tonally with the neutrals. Perfect for introducing subtle interest and colour to workspaces.

With 61% recycled content by weight, the Tessera Accord collection offers a sustainable flooring solution. The Tessera carpet tile production process aims to avoid any unnecessary waste and minimise energy and raw material use. All tufted Tessera carpet tiles are manufactured in an ISO 14001 certified plant using 100% renewable energy.

    EPD & GUT label

    Transparency with every step

To prove the eco-friendliness of our carpet tile products, Forbo uses several assessments. The first is the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) technique resulting in an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This declaration, which is transparent and third-party verified, is based on a technique to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product's life from raw material extraction through materials processing, manufacture, distribution, use, repair and maintenance, to ultimate disposal or recycling.

This technique takes all the following aspects into account: environmental impact of raw material acquisition, energy use and efficiency, content of materials and chemical substances, emissions to air, soil and water and waste generation.

    GUT Label
Forbo Flooring carpet tiles have received the GUT label. This means all Tessera ranges have passed the latest and severe testing on chemicals and emissions to ensure consumers safety.

Forbo Tessera carpet tiles are manufactured using polyamide (nylon) fibres for durability and appearance retention in the busiest commercial environments. A well designed entrance flooring system will prevent dirt and moisture from being tracked into the building, prolonging the life of the carpet tiles, reducing cleaning, repair and overall maintenance costs. Forbo Coral and Nuway entrance systems are independently proven to remove and retain up to 95% of all dirt and moisture entering a building.

Following the Forbo Floorcare guidelines will ensure that the appearance retention of the carpet tiles is retained.

    About LRV
In architecture, Light Reflectance Value (LRV) is a measure of the percentage of visible and usable light that is reflected from a surface when illuminated by a light source. The LRV can be linked to a number of decisions on which a colour can be chosen. The approximate LRV of a colour indicates the amount of visible light that a colour will reflect. Black has a light reflectance value of 0% and absorbs all light. White has a light reflectance value of 100% and keeps a building light and cool. It also links to the use of electricity where lighter colours need less lighting, which is a direct saving for the environment. All Forbo products carry a light reflection value, which can be found in the text next to the enlargement of the tabletop.

    About NCS
NCS colour coding describes the colour of any material. With numeric colour codes, so called NCS Notations, such as NCS S 1080-Y70R, any colour can be described precisely. NCS has defined 1950 standardised colours at every 10th step of the colour space to represent the entire colour space. Each notation's colour sample is visually identical to any other colour sample of the same notation, whether it is a standardised colour or a colour in between the 1950 standard colours. This way you can find matching flooring colours with other coloured items in a room.

The 'Natural Colour System' NCS has been developed in order to identify the colour value, its intensity and hue for a product. By using the NCS measurement system, colours and colour groups can be identified and matched regardless of the material that has been used. In this way colour coordinates for different aspects of the interior of a building can be determined. All Forbo Flooring products carry an NCS code, which can be found next to the enlargement of the tabletop and in our download center.
