Our site in Hanover (Germany) already offers superb technology to make this possible. All production facilities are checked round the clock for harmful waste gases with the aid of integrated, cutting-edge monitoring electronics. Furthermore, waste air from thermal afterburning is harnessed to heat the production machinery.
In particular by heat recovery and regenerative afterburning, our plant in Switzerland is reducing its CO₂ emissions and saving energy at the same time. Both processes burn waste gases in a different way before these can even enter the atmosphere. The heat generated is used for energy purposes. Consequently, these types of progressive technologies are not just beneficial to the environment, but also to our efficiency in the long term.
In addition to electrical energy, the company requires natural gas in particular in order to operate its production facilities. When planning optimization measures, these consumption quantities are at the forefront of our considerations. Our main production site in Hanover accounts for the greatest consumption quantities. Since 2009, this site reduced its annual carbon dioxide emissions per square metre of finished material by 31%.
