Hanover, February 2008. Forbo Siegling's new processes and products promise better hygiene in the packaging and food industry. The company will be presenting its latest edge sealing solutions for conveyor belts for the first time to the public at the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf (April 24 – 30, hall 4/stand G35).
Conveyor belt edges are reliably sealed using the new "Smartseal" and "Hotseal" processes. The sealing prevents oil, grease, moisture and bacteria from penetrating the conveyor belt from the sides, or pieces of fluff from the tension member protruding and entering the food conveyed. When counter-bending occurs frequently, both sealing processes are considerably more reliable than the previously common welded profiles. As a result, they ensure better levels of hygiene in nearly all areas of the food industry.
