Specially designed furniture as an integral part of the building can revive an area and add more features. Årstiderne Arkitekter has shown this in an expansion and update of the Bifrost Children's School in Herning.

The material they chose was Furniture linoleum and Bulletin board from Forbo Flooring. "A connection passage has been re-used by adding a selection of sofas which are "built-in" in the wall of the connection, explains the designer behind the solution, architect MAA and partner in Årstiderne Arkitekter, Peter Kristiansen. Requirements for the materials were comfortable, soft surfaces, which at the same time needed sufficient resilience for student to sit and play on.
Also, a learning staircase with associated wardrobes has created new opportunities in the rooms.
