RENEWABLE RAW MATERIALS

Fossil raw materials such as oil, natural gas, coal and uranium occur in limited supply in the world; experts predict that, if consumption remains at current levels, these resources will begin to run out in the more or less foreseeable future.

Renewable raw materials, on the other hand, can help slow climate change. Not only do they release less greenhouse gases than fossil fuels when used for their energy, they can even absorb CO2 during the growth phase. Renewable raw materials are not finite and can be grown almost everywhere on earth.

MARMOLEUM RAW MATERIALS

Depending on its colourway, Marmoleum flooring contains between 97 and 98 % natural raw materials such as linseed oil, jute and wood, 73 % of which is renewed very quickly. Even as they grow, these raw materials bind the greenhouse gas CO2 through photosynthesis, thus making an active contribution to climate protection.

In addition, 35 % recycled materials and 9 % high-quality upcycling materials are incorporated into the manufacturing process, significantly reducing consumption of primary raw materials. Linoleum also requires significantly less energy to produce than elastic floor coverings based on plastics. These aspects make Marmoleum flooring a real natural talent, and not just by comparison!
