    About Eternal Original

Good performance in almost all circumstances

Eternal is a high quality heterogeneous sheet vinyl floor covering that fits all general purpose needs in various segments and applications.

    Product construction
Eternal is created around a nonwoven, fully impregnated, glass fleece core which provides dimensional stability and allows a lean-development approach, resulting in a sustainable compact, high tech base.

Adding to stability and determining the high quality standard of Eternal is the optimized calandered backing; a firm yet flexible layer to allow easy installation, even when coving is required or in wetroom applications.
The unique and innovative embossed wear layer ensures maximum wear resistance and provides optimal appearance retention.

    Authentic designs
All of the Eternal designs are true originals, created by an in-house team of expert designers who translate the latest trends in classic, contemporary as well as modern and advanced flooring designs that cannot be distinguished from their original material expressions, like wood and concrete.

PUR Pearl and PUR Wood Pearl
For Eternal Original Forbo uses it’s proven PUR Pearl lacquering protection technique. The application technique for the lacquering layer assures an even amount of lacquering both on top and in the deeper areas of the embossing. It prevents the surface collecting dirt and is the best guarantee for quality and gloss consistency that ensures low maintenance costs.
The mat embossed lacquer layer ensures the highest level of both chemical- and scuff resistance.

    Phthalate free
All Eternal floor coverings are created with the highest environmental stands in mind using the best qualified virgin materials as well as controlled recycled content creating a closed loop production. In addition all items in the Eternal range are phthalate free.

    Environment

    Creating better environments

    • Our Eternal Original floors contain approximately 20% recycled content in the total mass of the product, which is specifically used in the backing, where it cannot affect the look or quality of the product. Like all Forbo vinyl, Eternal Original is 100% phthalate free.

    • We produce all our vinyl in Europe where it meets the highest possible current and future REACH compliance standards for chemical content.

    • 100% of electricity comes from renewable sources and our vinyl production sites are part of an effective environmental management system, achieving ISO 14001 certification.

    • We use smart material constructions and durable finishes for our vinyl. A micro-embossing technology reduces the need for chemical cleaning and increases the floor’s lifespan.

    LRV
In architecture, Light Reflectance Value (LRV) is a measure of the percentage of visible and usable light that is reflected from a surface when illuminated by a light source. The LRV can be linked to a number of decisions on which a colour can be chosen. The approximate LRV of a colour indicates the amount of visible light that a colour will reflect. Black has a light reflectance value of 0% and absorbs all light. White has a light reflectance value of 100% and keeps a building light and cool. It also links to the use of electricity where lighter colours need less lighting, which is a direct saving for the environment. All Forbo products carry a light reflection value, which can be found in the text next to the enlargement of the tabletop.

    NCS
NCS colour coding describes the colour of any material. With numeric colour codes, so called NCS Notations, such as NCS S 1080-Y70R, any colour can be described precisely. NCS has defined 1950 standardised colours at every 10th step of the colour space to represent the entire colour space. Each notation's colour sample is visually identical to any other colour sample of the same notation, whether it is a standardised colour or a colour in between the 1950 standard colours. This way you can find matching flooring colours with other coloured items in a room.

The 'Natural Colour System' NCS has been developed in order to identify the colour value, its intensity and hue for a product. By using the NCS measurement system, colours and colour groups can be identified and matched regardless of the material that has been used. In this way colour coordinates for different aspects of the interior of a building can be determined. All Forbo Flooring products carry an NCS code, which can be found next to the enlargement of the tabletop and in our download center.
