Linoleum

Acoustic linoleum

Our acoustic linoleum floors have a higher impact sound reduction value because of a special insulating layer that is connected to the linoleum sheet. In this way an impact sound reduction of up to 17dB can be achieved.

Acoustic linoleum is available in 2 varieties; Marmoleum Decibel with a cork backing reaching up to 14dB, and Marmoleum Acoustic with a polyolefine backing managing sound reductions of up to 17dB.

    Marmoleum Acoustic

Our Marmoleum Acoustic floors reduce impact sound by 14 dB (ISO 717-2). It is a twinlayer floor covering with a build-up from 2 mm Marmoleum and a 2 mm Corkment backing.

    Marmoleum Decibel

Within our linoleum floors, Marmoleum Decibel provides the highest reduction of impact sound by 17 dB. Marmoleum Decibel is 3.5 mm sheet floor covering with a 2.5 mm Marmoleum Real laminated onto a 1 mm thick layer of polyolefin foam. Marmoleum Decibel is available in 25 colours from the Marmoleum Real collection.

    Corkment

A Corkment underlay can be used in combination with regular Marmoleum to achieve an impact sound reduction of 14dB. First the Corkment should be installed - with the jute side up - at right angles to the same direction as that of the Marmoleum sheet.

About acoustic linoleum

Our acoustic linoleum flooring

Our Acoustic linoleum floors achieve lower dB values due to a special insulating layer that is connected to the linoleum sheet. In this way impact sound reduction up to 17 dB can be achieved.

Marmoleum Acoustic
Our Marmoleum Acoustic range reduces impact sound by 14dB (ISO 717-2). It is a twinlayer linoleum built up from 2 mm Marmoleum and a 2 mm Corkment backing. Using Marmoleum Acoustic reduces installation costs as it can be installed in one go, avoiding the need to first lay Corkment.

Marmoleum Decibel
Marmoleum Decibel provides the highest reduction of impact sound by 17 dB. It is 3.5 mm thick: 2.5 mm Marmoleum Real laminated onto a 1 mm layer of polyolefine foam. Marmoleum Decibel is available in 25 colours from the Marmoleum Real collection.

Corkment Underlay
Using a Corkment underlay can be used in combination with regular Marmoleum to achieve an impact sound reduction of at least 14dB (according ISO 717-2). First the Corkment should be installed – with the jute side up – at right angles to the direction of the Marmoleum sheets. Wait one day for the adhesive to set. Then install the Marmoleum on top of the Corkment. Follow the standard installation procedures.

Sustainable & durable

Sustainable & durable flooring

97% natural raw materials
72% rapidly renewable
43% recycled content

High performance created by nature
Created from natural, renewable materials, Marmoleum flooring is the most sustainable resilient flooring available. It contains no phthalates, no plasticisers and no mineral oil. The key raw materials used in the Marmoleum production include:

● linseed oil, which comes from the flax plant seeds
● wood flour from controlled forests and
● jute, the natural backing onto which the linoleum is calandered.

Marmoleum has been measured against all of the important sustainable global eco labels like e.g. Nordic Swan and the Blue Angel.

Topshield2 is Forbo Floorings' high performance UV-finish which is applied to all Marmoleum floor coverings. Topshield2 prevents staining, scuffing and scratching for lasting appearance retention and provides for easy cleaning and maintenance at lower intervals.
